Daniel's Vineyard is proud to work with KassieKares for their Second Annual Sip. Bark! Repeat. The event will be held on Sunday, August 18th, 2019 from 12:00-6:00 PM at Daniel's Family Vineyard and Winery.
Kassandra “Kassie” Braun of Fishers, Indiana, 20, tragically passed on November 7, 2017, while traveling abroad with Semester at Sea. Kassie was a 2015 graduate of Cathedral High School and was a Junior at St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas. Throughout her school years, Kassie was heavily involved in many philanthropic endeavors, earning her Semester at Sea’s Impact-Service Learning Scholarship. Kassie was honored to serve in country and brought her experiences abroad back to others. Her role in country was to learn, interact, and assist in programs so she could bring that experience home, share it to broaden perspectives, encourage others to travel and also change lives. While her voyage circumnavigating the globe came to an abrupt end, her spirit and love of life and others continues to resonate in her hometown community, Texas, and indeed, around the world. Kassie began serving her community and giving back at a young age. Her dream was to assist with the development of future student leaders at home and around the globe.
Kassie was also Daniel's Vineyard very first intern, and soon became part of the Daniel's Vineyard family. Her tenacious spirit and ambition taught us much more than we could ever taught her as an intern. As we planned our summer events and discussed the next stages, giving back to the community was first on Kassie's mind. She developed our soon to be weekly series, Sip. Bark!. Repeat. The idea was simple: allow your four-legged friends to come to the Vineyard, and give the proceeds of the entry to local humane societies and shelters. We soon began partnering with local organizations, raising awareness for local non-profits, and got many, many dogs new loving homes. Kassie's love for the community and giving back kindled our Pour it Forward series and continues to inspire us to make a difference in our community.
The KassieKares organization strives to promote philanthropic student involvement through international travel and activities that allow young leaders to engage in meaningful experiences that positively impact children locally and in the developing world. KassieKares is currently fundraising to fully fund the school scholarships in the U.S. and to complete the construction of the Kassie Braun Memorial schools in Nigeria.
Each year, we will remember Kassie's kind and giving heart, and it continues to propel us to do more. KassieKares is doing wonders to promote empowering our youth, and we are so excited to be apart of their mission. Sip. Bark! Repeat. is a loving, giving and fun-filled event that everyone should attend; Learn about opportunities to give back to the community, meet a new four-legged family member, and embrace your community by gathering together for one common mission - give back to your community, and together we can change the world.
